Fujii Denko has been manufacturing a variety of products for specialized professional use consistently under the theme of fall prevention and efficiency improvement in height work for as long as more than half a century since its establishment. Fujii Denko is the only enterprise in the world that can offer total systems providing safety and efficiency in all types of height work. Fujii Denko's products include fall prevention equipment mounted to structures and used in combination with safety belts to prevent workers from falling off the structures, ground access equipment allowing ease of telecommunication work from the ground, and monorail system to transport workers and materials for steel tower work and forest work in the mountains, besides safety belts.
The birth of our company and the first term of growth
Soon after World Warâ…¡, we were suffering from electric power failure because the situation of the electricity supply wasn't good unlike present. Then workers had to climb up electric poles to repair them. My father who worked at the power company, was shocked to see the accidents that workers fell down from an electric pole. And then he resolved to "exterminate the accident falling down from the height", and founded Fujii Sangyo, which is the predecessor of today's Fujii Denko.
When we changed the company's name into Fujii Denko in 1960, high economic
growth began. And from then, the law about the safety of labor started
to be regulated, not only electric power industry, but also communication,
construction fields began to consider the safety of labor. With high economic
growth by something like International exhibition in Osaka, Tokyo Olympic,
our company's products started to be widely used.
The second term of growth
High speed and high-rise construction are needed in today's society. At construction site for Shinkansen or expressway, hole a tunnel and build a bridge. These days, high-rise buildings are built one after another, and working in the dizzy height is increasing. Even if the construction is done in the underground, workers should dig deep hole. So in a sense, it's done in the high place also.
It may not be there such a period as many people are concerning about
the value of life like present in Japan. While Japanese economy is developing
in peace, we are sure that our company's products are required. If the
war occurred, our products would not be needed, for our background is
in peace. Our long-year's effort enables us to get reputation like "Fujii
Denko's fall arresting system is reliable!", and our company became
the leading fall arresting system's maker in the world.
We developed our high quality in the countryside
Our head office and Takino factory are located in the center of Hyogo
Prefecture, and surrounded by forest. And there is Yashiro factory in
rural area surrounded by fields. We have dealing with major companies,
like electric power companies, general construction companies, telecommunication
companies, and bridge construction companies. So you may think it is better
for us to place our head office in Tokyo or Osaka. But country side has
good point. Sincerity or single minded personality is left in this district,
and it is suitable for our company's disposition which is producing safety.
We can work in the calm atmosphere. It is very important to produce safety.
Producing our products slowly but surely, accurately as we feel beautiful
nature enables us to keep our safety belt's high quality. And it is better
than working in the bustle of the big city. We think "Slow is beautiful"
in spite of today's busy society.
Safety is love
We have to produce our products a little but wide varieties in order
to meet the needs of customers. We furnish testing towers to test all
of safety belts and fall arresting system, which is without precedent
.The highest steel tower of the three is 31m.
By introducing of X-ray fluorescent system, we can check where we can't
see with unaided eyes. And we sometimes destroy products more than actual
delivery quantities in case of testing developmental products like new
materials or the way of design. These things prove that we think protecting
human lives is the most important thing.
It may be affected phrase, but I believe "safety is love". We
produce safety equipments dearly. And workers who use it practically put
on it dearly also and repair it daily. I think affection from both sides
is essential. Unfortunately, if someone dies in an accident falling down,
his family or friends who loved him and were loved by him will be in tragic
situation and grieve his death. Using our products with your affection
leads to the prevention of accidents. In order to open the door locked
by safety, the key, it is called love is needed.
